I've been making cards for a while now - usually I'd for a lino-print or some sort of crude watercolour, however with my mum's 60th I did something a little different. I've been drawing little people recently and have been lucky enough to be commissioned to do some for a client. I loved how they turned out so I took this style to create a birthday card for my mum. I drew mum, my sis and myself, all in lovely dresses, scanned in the doodles, coloured them and got them printed in a monster A3 folded card. Then I was able to add some glitter touches to give it a really special 60th birthday feel.
Tissue paper flowers made an appearance in the form of party hat decorations and can be used to jazz up present wrapping too. This is a good tutorial for making paper pom-poms, I think they look beautiful! And some photos below to show them used in present wrapping and on party hats on our photogenic heads!
